Smell

Smell project focused on the concept of odours, their impact on the emotional state of a person as mood generators. The aim of the project was to create a portable device that could generate smells/moods, would be comfortable to wear and looked like a jewellery. Creators wanted people to share their moods with each other, so the capsules containing the smell concentrate should be removable and easily replaceable. The main task was to investigate how odours can be produced and which smells generate certain moods and associations. How does it work? Prototype is an elegant device worn around the neck on each side of which are detachable capsules. The device is connected via bluetooth channel to the phone from which you can choose which a smell to produce. The final prototype with 4 smells was tested in different places with different people. Sometimes the same smell was associated by person with different moods. Kamila and Bek see many ways for the further development of the device as a portable electronics, which can be used in various fields: perfumery, clothing, scent guides and integration with virtual reality glasses.
