On 1 and 2 February students from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and Voronezh took part in Shukhov Lab Winter School ‘Face recognition in the city’. Within two days participants with Architecture, Urban Informatics, Sociology and Social Informatics, Soil Science, Political Science and Economics backgrounds created face recognition spoofing tool.

‘Prototyping future cities’ graduates and fellows of the grant of the president of the Republic of Tatarstan addressed the authorities of Moscow and Tatarstan in Zaryadye park at the Moscow Urban Forum.

On June 10 and 11 students of the Master's programme presented their dissertations to the international state examination committee.

Starting February 14, HSE will offer a unique interdisciplinary online project ‘Megacities of the Future’ on Webinar.ru platform. The webinars will run over the course of 13 weeks with one lecture a week. One of the lecturers, Benito Juarez, the founder of the first Fab Lab in South America and the Latin America Fab Lab Network, has told us about the project and has also talked about contemporary trends in architecture, urbanism, and sociology.

Master’s programme in Prototyping Future Cities offered by the HSE Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urbanism was launched in 2017 and has since become quite popular among international students. Students from all over the world come to Moscow to learn how to use technologies to deal with future challenges of urban development. Two of the first-year students have talked to HSE News Service about studying on the programme and the projects they have been working on.

HSE Graduate School of Urbanism and RED Foundation carried out in Tbilisi the workshop ‘The river: barrier or connection’ dedicated to the regeneration of the embankments of Mtkvari river.

Shukhov Lab, a Laboratory for Experimental Urban Design, has opened at HSE. Participants in a roundtable discussion dedicated to the laboratory’s opening agreed that to create the cities of the future, the present must be analyzed without adjusting to the forecasts.
